Do I own my website?
Upon final payment, you receive rights to the final deliverables under your agreement. LocalByte retains rights to reusable frameworks and process materials; third-party components remain subject to their licenses. Your domain and applicable business accounts remain yours. See our terms of service.
Are hosting and maintenance required?
Care plans are optional unless specifically required by the proposed hosting arrangement. We explain your hosting options, responsibilities, and ongoing costs in the proposal.
What happens after launch?
We hand over the agreed work and explain ongoing support options. Business Website and Business Website Plus proposals define a correction period for defects in the agreed work. New requests and ongoing maintenance sit outside that correction period.
Can I request changes later?
Yes. Eligible small updates can use your care plan’s monthly allowance. Other work requires approval and a separate quote or agreed development rate. Unused monthly time does not roll over.
What if I need more pages?
We can add pages to the agreed scope. See common additions for a page using an existing layout; pages needing new design or functionality are quoted separately.
Can LocalByte work with my existing website?
Yes, where the platform and access allow it. Tell us what you have and what needs to change. An existing website assessment can help establish whether targeted improvements or a rebuild make sense.
What is included in application discovery?
Requirements and workflow planning, essential functionality, high-level screen planning, a technical approach, and documented scope and assumptions. You receive a fixed-price implementation proposal where feasible and useful documentation even if you stop there. If you proceed with LocalByte, the discovery payment counts toward the total project price and reduces the remaining balance; it is not an additional discount. Acceptance of implementation is not guaranteed.
How are custom apps priced?
According to actual requirements, workflows, integrations, and complexity. The starting price covers only a narrowly scoped web application. Complex SaaS platforms, billing systems, multiple integrations, and extensive permissions require custom estimates and can cost substantially more. Native mobile apps are scoped separately.
Do you offer monthly payment options?
Qualifying Business Website projects may use the payment plan above, subject to approval and a custom written agreement. It includes a 12-month build obligation and Website Care, and costs more than the one-time build price. The full first-year commitment is shown above. Transfer, early termination, and payment obligations must be agreed before starting.
Are domain, software, and third-party costs included?
Only when explicitly included in your proposal or service agreement. Domains, paid assets, subscriptions, app store fees, and usage-based services may cost extra. We identify expected costs and who manages each account before you approve the work.
How long does a project take?
Timing depends on the scope, content readiness, feedback, and external dependencies. We agree a realistic schedule in your proposal. There is no universal turnaround guarantee.
What happens if the scope changes?
We document the requested change and its effect on price and timing, then get your approval before doing the additional work. Consolidated revisions refine the agreed work; new pages, workflows, or features may change the scope.
