Fieldwork / Garden studies

Garden design studies.

Three original concept studies. Each starts with an ordinary need and follows it into a garden.

01 / A place to gather

The everyday garden.

A straightforward route connects the house with a generous table area. Planting gathers at the edges so the central space remains useful.

The design question

How can one garden welcome a few people without feeling empty on a quiet morning?

The response

A defined terrace provides a comfortable centre. Repeated planting groups bring rhythm, while a narrow path offers a simple way to move through the space.

02 / A sheltered pause

The courtyard garden.

A tree anchors a paved room, with slim benches and planted edges. The concept balances openness with enclosure.

03 / A slower route

The meadow edge.

A curved route takes the long way through loosely grouped planting. A small clearing offers a reason to stop and look back.
